As Shia Muslims in Malaysia seek to receive a basic fundamental right in being able to practice their religion, we here at this blog will try, God willing, to keep our readers updated as much as possible on the current situation.

In the present climate the Shia denomination is considered illegal, and therefore anyone caught representing their school of thought I.E. by remembering the event of Karbala, will be arrested, and could face up to two years in jail. *

The reason for the law is because the government of Malaysia believes that Shia Islam poses a national security threat, because Shia Muslims are allowed to kill members of different Islamic sects, a claim, which I can assure my readers, is as new to me as anything I have heard today.

A religious scholar in Malaysia blasts the arrest of more than 200 Muslim Shias, including Iranians, Indonesians and Pakistanis, at an Ashura mourning ceremony.

“Malaysia is trying to become a country a la Taliban that only allows one school of thought,” prominent Muslim scholar Asri Zainul Abidin said. (more…)

In his Peak of Eloquence Imam Ali (as) give a most wonderful definition of the word Islam. Though already produced on this site, amongst many other immaculate sayings, I believe this one in particular deserves another look at. (more…)

‘’ With the advent of the month of Muharram, my father Imam Kadhim (A.S.) would never be seen laughing; gloom and sadness would overcome him for (the first) ten days of the month; and when the tenth day of the month would dawn, it would be a day of tragedy, grief, and weeping for him.’’ (more…)

The status of Fatima al-Zahara within the religion of Islam has been documented thoroughly in both Sunni and Shia texts; with that said, it is still very sad to see Muslims until this very day elevating other female individuals over the status of Fatima al-Zahara. And it is for that very reason that I deem it necessary to write an article on her status, primarily from the texts of our Sunni brothers and sisters in order to prove once and for all that Fatima al-Zahara is indeed a shining light in Islam, and a role model for all to follow.

Imam Hussein(as)Death with dignity is better than life with Humiliation

Salaamu alaykum wa rhmatallahu wa barkatu. Since the time of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) the grandson of the prophet, Imam Hussein(as) has been honored for his great tragedy in Karbala. Tens of millions of people have visited the shrine of Imam Hussein(as) to pay tribute to this unbelievable man, even if it called for them to endure severe hardships. I have presented a brief bio on his birth, Quranic reference that shows the prophecy told of him in Karbala, traditions narrated about the Lord of the Martyrs and finally hopefully help you understand the significances of his remarkable sacrifice in Karbala.
